Making fields avalable in Drupal user profile
February 14, 2012, 05:49:19 am
Per default, a user who is not permitted to use the CiviCRM interface can go to his or her Drupal account page and edit name and address in the "Name and address" tab. But what if I want to make any of my custom fields available here - is there a recommended way to do this?

I could probably install one of the standard Drupal modules for making user profiles (for instance, the Profile2 module), but since CiviCRM doesn't make use of any of these modules I suppose it has its own way of doing it.

This is my first visit in this forum. I'm having great problems reading the captcha images. And isn't all those questions about being a human being etc. just a bit overkill...?

1. Might want to read:

http://book.civicrm.org/user/
http://book.civicrm.org/user/organising-your-data/profiles

2. we used to spend a lot of time dealing with spammers on the forum. the current stuff has really gotten it down to a much lower level.

Thanks - the second link seems to be exactly what I was looking for!

I'm sure the current level of anti-spam mechanisms brings down the number of spambots. My concern is that it might bring down the number of human users, too... ;)

It probably does and others have noted this issue before.

On the other hand, it means that everyone here has earned the right to be here. ;)
