   We use the UAS CiviSMTP service for CiviMail. Everything is working fine except for replies. The initial problem was that, even though the CiviMail mailing report indicated that the replies had been sent, the reply message never arrived in the "reply-to" mailbox. I contacted Shane about this and he indicated that this behavior was a known problem in some versions of the software (we are running 1.9.12432). He sent us a patch for the mailing.php file. We installed the patch and now, though the replies are making it to the reply-to mailbox, there is a new problem: replies sent from addresses outside of our own email domain come through looking just fine, but replies sent from email addresses within our email domain are garbled.
   For example: our domain is afsc.org. I sent 2 test emails: one to ccc@verizon.net and one to ddd@afsc.org. Then, I replied from both emails with a reply-to address of eee@afsc.org. The reply from ccc@verizon.net came through with the proper unsubscribe/opt-out information and it looks just fine. The reply from ddd@afsc.org came through looking like this:

2 questions:
1. Do you have any idea what is causing this behavior and what we need to do to fix it?
2. Is the fix in the patch a customization for CiviSMTP or will it be part of the mailing.php file when we convert to 2.0 in a couple of weeks? I didn't find anything in the issue tracker to indicate that this was a permanent fix.

  We think we know why this is happening but we have no idea how to fix it. We use MS Outlook for our email client. If I reply from Outlook 2003, the reply message opens up fine in either Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. If I reply from Outlook 2007, the reply message is scrambled in either Outlook 2003 or 2007. It appears that Outlook 2007 is adding an extra layer of encoding, like base 64 or something. We are going to look into this but if you have any suggestions we are all ears.
   Also, can you please respond to my second question in the earlier post.

Does that include the fix for mailing.php that you sent me or just the patch for this Outlook problem?
