single sign on in drupal or civicrm?
February 27, 2012, 11:57:48 am
I'm looking to build a civicrm/drupal site and my understanding is that civicrm can synchronize its members with drupal's user list. I really want to be able to have LDAP so that third-party apps can authenticate against it.  If I wanted LDAP functionality here, is it as easy as using the Drupal LDAP module? Or do I integrate Civi with LDAP?  Can either of these products act as an LDAP module?

  • CiviCRM version: Always the latest!
  • CMS version: Drupal 6 mostly, still evaluating 7.
  • MySQL version: Mix of 5.0 / 5.1 / 5.5
  • PHP version: 5.3, usually on Windows

Drupal LDAP integration (ldapauth) will do what you want.

demeritcowboy, we did have some issues in the past with the dashboards in CiviCRM and single sign on with Drupal LDAP integration. Do you know if these are fixed in the current stable Civi versions?
