Membership Dues Contribution Page Not Creating Membership Record

I am on current versions of CiviCRM and Joomla.
The upgrades completed successfully as far as I can tell (messages were successful)
I have an existing Membership Dues Contribution page setup and attached to a joomla front end menu that has worked prior to the completion of the recent upgrade.
Currently when I complete process of signing up a new member, I get a contact record, and an contribution record, but no membership record, and the confirming email doesn't get sent.

I am looking for some guidance on solving this problem.

I appreciate any suggestions.

I am having the same problem. Upgraded a site to Joomla 2.5 and civi 4.1. I have a membership form that has require account creation for joomla enabled. When I confirm the contribution it brings me to my homepage, not the thanks for your membership page, and no joomla user account is created. I get a contact and contribution record but no membership record. Turning off the require account creation feature I get a thank you for your membership page after confirming contribution and I get a membership record.

Thanks Brad.  I hadn't noticed but similarly don't get the joomla account created.

I'm having the exact same problem. Had account creation set as optional and upon confirming contributions with create an account selected, you were kicked back to the homepage. User account was not created, but the contribution goes through.

Any updates on this?

Nothing new here in the forum. 
It certainly seems centered around new joomla user accounts. 
I had an existing contact who was logged in (existing joomla user account) and added a membership through the contribution page without issue.

Seems like a bug with joomla account creation and memberships.

Would be great if you can spend some time debugging and trying to figure out what the issue is and where. Maybe the "create user" function in joomla does not return back to civicrm or aborts?

I have the same issue (posted elsewhere). Mine was on an upgraded site as well - sounds like most of the problems are with upgrades?

Unfortunately I don't have coding skills to debug, but if I can help support a solution would be glad to.

Looks like we have solution with this topic.  User registration problems http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23620.0.html.
I haven't tried to fix it yet but there is a patch and it looks like it will be included in the next release.
