Front end profile form not visible to anonymous visitors [SOLVED]
February 29, 2012, 05:52:30 pm
Following the instructions in "Configuring Front-end Profile Listings and Forms in Joomla! Sites"...

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/Configuring+Front-end+Profile+Listings+and+Forms+in+Joomla!+Sites

...I have a working form. Trouble is, it is only visible to logged in registered Joomla users, and the form in question is a registration form for the general public. Anonymous visitors see an error page. The exact message is in Spanish, but the gist is a possible permissions problem in accessing profile gid=10, which is indeed the profile in question.

The access level of the form's menu item is "public" and the type is "com_civicrm » Profile Create Form". Caching is disabled. CiviCRM and Joomla are on the same MySQL schema.

I have tried, unsuccessfully, the following:

* The "Fixing Problems with Module Visibility" trick cited in the above reference (using a new menu for link generating purposes)
* Deactivating Joomla's Search Engine Friendly URLs and Use URL rewriting options
* Reading Using CiviCRM, the Administrator's Guide, searching the web and this forum

What might I try next to get this form visible to anonymous visitors?

did you give anonymous users the permission to "create profiles" in joomla acl / permissioning. You can get to that screen from the civicrm admin screen
