Missing CiviCRM 4.1 Navigation after new install in Drupal 7
March 03, 2012, 05:04:51 pm
Hi All,
We are building a new website for a non-profit client using Drupal 7 with "theme554" running on Ubuntu 10, Apache 2, PHP 5.3.3, MySQL 5.1.49.  After the installation of CiviCRM 4.1.1 with sample data, there is no CiviCRM navigation menu when going to the /civicrm dashboard.  Additionally, there no entries in the Navigation Menu in /civicrm/admin/menu.  With debug enabled, there are no errors and no errors in the log.  In Chrome Developer Tools, there is an "Uncaught ReferenceError: cj is not defined" error in "menu" referenced 7 times.

The issue appears to be with the theme.  We tried going back to the default theme and the navigation menu started working.  However, we have paid for this custom theme and would like to get our investment out of it.  In the default Drupal theme, we briefly saw an error, "Undefined index: operator type in crm_report_forum_member_summary => ..." (but were unable to reproduce it).  Going back to "theme554" made the issue return.  Disabling/enabling the module did not fix the problem nor did the rebuild command via /civicrm/menu/rebuild?reset=1.

Can anyone suggest another option to try to get this working?  We would really appreciate the help!  Thank you!

The message Uncaught ReferenceError: cj is not defined is most likely a JS incompatibility between your theme and CiviCRM. You would need to debug that and determine how to alter the theme so it will work with CiviCRM. You would probably need someone who knows JS to do that. I can't say what the precise issue is based on just that error message.

Don't know what you decided to do to resolve this, but with the CiviCRM Theme module you can set the theme for the CiviCRM pages to something else - you might like to try Antonelli.
