STANDING ENCRYPTION
March 06, 2012, 04:23:12 am
Has anybody used an encryption technique such as 'ezencrypt' to secure the standing DB?

Or used any other techniques to encrypt the data base table?

Cheers Don

Thanks
I'm looking to use CiviCase accessible via web, but cant allow DB to be left unencrypted due to DProtection issues; looking for best way to have DB safe from complete data theft while allowing web access.

Cheers Don

Hi,

Out of curiosity, what are the data protection regulations you need to comply with (specific country/sector) ?

As lobo suggested, encrypt the disk that contains the db should solve the pb nicely, isn't it?

Sorry been busy! UK area but due to DB contents sensitivity looking to meet owasp testing standards.

I'm going to try a os file encryption on a PC.

I was considering interleave encryption as it might be possible to have remote host more easily; but I will see waht I can do with local host first.

Thanks Don
