hi - can someone clarify for me the expected outcome.

The scenario is
- send renewal email with checksum to Contribution Page
- on Thank You page have a link to an 'update your details' Profile

I expected that the 'session' would close when leaving the Contribution Form and hence the profile would be blank - which obviously wasn't what we wanted - just what I expected.

But my testing is showing that the user can fill in the Renewal Form and then move on to the Profile and have it prefilled - which is great cos it is what we wanted

But discussions years ago eg http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,4723 and http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,5640 caused me to presume the session would close and we would have to customise to keep the session.

So am I wrong and therefore in luck

Or am I right but also in luck

Or is something else amiss that is causing the session to remain open when the expected behaviour is that it shouldn't remain open?
