Adding Organization Data to an event

We have an event where youth groups sign up for camping. Within that event we would like to gather info on the church they belong to. When I create a church profile, that profile is not available to me within the event. Is there a way to gather organization info within an event?

Is it possible to create a custom template and then add an organization profile manually? If so I know how to create a custom template, but what code would I need to add to get the organization profile added to the registration?
