Using event fields in custom profiles
February 16, 2008, 10:13:18 am
One of our database users wanted to set up a custom profile that would allow you to search for individuals in CiviCRM and display their contact information along with their event participant status.  She can set this up in the custom profile using all the profile fields she needs for the individual and the event participant field. When she uses this profile for a search it works, but then the participant status is blank in the selector in the search results.  Is this because the event and individual fields are different types? Is there a way to do this?
Thanks for your help.
Sarah

yeah, i dont think we handle the below case properly and as such is a missing feature / bug. The main issue is a contact could potentially participate in multiple events, and hence will need to be replicated 'n' times in the listing. Hopefully we'll figure out how to handle this in a 2.x release.

v2.0 has an event participant listing which can be permissioned to be public. Not sure if this will be useful for your users. Another option in 2.0 would be to write your own custom search for this using our new custom search framework.
