Creating a local test-site for upgrading
March 11, 2012, 07:40:48 am
Hi!

I'm trying to make a copy of my site work, using the instructions on http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location. I'm running Joomla 1.5.25

However, I cannot disable my CiviCRM in Joomla Module manager. It is not there. And not in Plugins manager either. I'm running CiviCRM 2.2.2 for the moment. Any ideas on this? Is it important to be able to disable it?

So far, I've been able to create a clone of the Joomla site, but anything CiviCRM-related just produces a white page, including the reset command in point 9, on the page above. So my idea was if this was related to me not disabling CiviCRM before backing up the database/site.

Any ideas?

Best,

Magnus Larsson

Disabling CiviCRM is not strictly required, if you can get everything else correct, such as all the settings in the civicrm.settings.php files.
