Using checksum to allow non-logged in people to manage group subscriptions
March 12, 2012, 07:34:39 am
Hi there.

I saw this topic that Eileen started a long time ago - http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,11050.msg47517.html#msg47517 about sending ppl a link with a checksum so that they can access their dashboard. This is what I want to do - in order to allow ppl who don't have a drupal login to manage their mailing group subscriptions.

I tried it with this link: http://mysite.com/civicrm/user?reset=1&id={contact.contact_id}&{contact.checksum} which directed me to the right place if I was logged in, but wouldn't allow access if I wasn't.

Is the dashboard not accessible with checksum? Is there a way of getting round this?

Thanks a lot

Just did a quick check of the code and seems like it did not make it.

However its quite a easy issue, so if not super-urgent, can you please file an issue and mark it as "Code Sprint" and we'll fix it during the CiviCon sprints
