How to view a contact's associated drupal user from the contact record
March 12, 2012, 08:04:13 am
After upgrading from 3.x to 4.x I'm no longer able to get from a contact record to the associated drupal user. In 3.x there was a link or button near the top of the record that read "View user record" or something similar. Now I'm running 4.1.0 on Drupal 7 and I can't seem to find this functionality anymore. When I'm viewing a drupal user record, there is a link to view the CiviCRM contact record, so the data does exist. Is this functionality lost for the time being, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Go to Contact View and then click on Actions, you should have a link to user account.

I've tried looking in the "Actions ↘" menu, but I don't have a link to the user account.

To be clear, when reproducing this behavior, I'm clicking on the "» View Contact Record" link on a Drupal user's page. Then I click on "Actions ↘" and I get a drop down with three columns for (1) adding different activities, (2) adding other stuff, and (3) "Print Summary", "vCard", and "Contact Dashboard" -- There is no link to the user account.

What else can I try here?

hi sean

are you saying that if you got to User X there is a link to their civi record - but if you click through to that record there is no link back to the User record?

anything special about your site, such as multisite or such like - am guessing not since you are flagging this problem resulted from an upgrade

There was an issue with this functionality for Drupal 7. Partial fix was committed for 4.1.1, and a complete fix for 4.1.2 is in progress and should be completed shortly:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-9715

Users should see the "User Record" action, and the User ID link if they have Drupal's 'administer users' permission OR they are looking at "their own" CiviCRM contact record.
