Require Approval put participants in registered status
March 12, 2012, 12:27:09 pm
I have an event that requires approval. I have the required approval checkbox checked and I also have all of the participant statuses included. But when I test out the registration, I am put into a registered status instead of a required approval status. How do I get the registration to automatically put a participant into a required approval status right after they register and stay that way until someone approves them?

I see the issue out there is complete. Do you know if we can get that code anywhere so we can start using it? We are going to be implementing this event on April 1st.

I noticed two other things with this process. When the first email goes out to the participant it says that your status has been updated to registered. Shouldn't this be pending for approval?

"Thank you for your participation. This letter is a confirmation that your registration has been received and your status has been updated to registered for the following:
Your registration has been submitted.
Once your registration has been reviewed, you will receive an email with a link to a web page where you can complete the registration process."

Also when I try to change the status from awaiting approval to pending from approval an email is not sent out notifying the participant.

I got the approval email to work but the link in the email says this "Go to a web page where you can confirm your registration online" Can I change the text to something else? Like Click on this site where you can confirm your registration online? Do you know which file this is in and the initial email that is sent out that says the user is registered (when they are not approved yet).

You might want to edit the text in Administer → Communications → Message Templates

look for Events - Registration Confirmation and Receipt (on-line)

You can edit it & make the desired changes to it.
