We're using 4.1 and since the day we switched in Feb we have had problems with CiviEvent.

When someone registers online for a paid event, they are showing in Civi as Registered as soon as they select a ticket price and before they pay.  They should show as Pending due to Incomplete Transaction. If they get to the Paypal page and then click Cancel, they still show as Registered in their record, with the ticket price showing.

It's a similar sort of issue but not exactly the same as http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23521.msg98822.html#msg98822 which was seen to be a bug.

Is this a bug too?  Numerous people have also mentioned Paypal issues to us since the transition to 4.1.0.  Have others come across this?

I am having similar problems since switching to 4.1.0. I'm using PayPal web payments standard. Some people fail to complete their PayPal payment. They never pay, but are still listed as registered right away. Payment shows as "Pending", registration shows as "Registered". Very strange. This becomes more of a problem when the same person goes back to complete their registration -- they start from scratch and then the system tells them they can't register because they're already registered. Perhaps this is fixed in 4.1.1? Would love to get this worked out. Thanks for the help!

That's exactly the same problem Sean - you just explained it more clearly than I did! It's wreaking havoc with our current event booking as it's an event with a restricted number of tickets and we can't gauge numbers accurately at the moment.  An additional confusing element is that our Paypal record is showing some people as having paid but Civi doesn't show them as having registered at all. The problems started the day after we transitioned to 4.1.0

Any advice is very gratefully received as our event is in 10 days, so online booking is in both full swing and chaos.

You might want to upgrade your CiviCRM to 4.1.1 since this has already been fixed under
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-9712
