Custom Fields
March 14, 2012, 06:10:13 pm
I created a custom set and I am using that custom set in a profile for an event. When I register for the event, I am able to add the info into the custom fields, and go through the registration process. But when I go back to the event the custom fields that were entered do not populate. Am I missing a step somewhere? It looks like they are populating in the table.

Can you try to replicate this on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org and if you are able to replicate please file a bug report in issue tracker.

Thanks
Kurund

is this more an issue of the fact that you can't step back in to a registration for an event in civicrm and add/edit your data?

ie you register and save

you go back to the registration form

it does not prepopulate the participant fields since you are not reopening the previous registration

talking about the front end here

note that webform-civicrm does allow this afaik - ie you can let people use civievent to register - then you can let them update their participant info on a webform-civicrm form that is set up for the same 'event' - though with a note of caution that this route can result in a change of participant status from memory but if that isn't an issue (or if it is and you can bribe coleman to bend his brain around it) then you may find this route helpful

otherwise just ignore the tired ravings of a sleep deprived kiwi

I just can't view it after the registration is done. So if I pull up the participant and click on their custom area none of the fields are showing. I replicated it in demo, but it seems to be working there. I am not sure why it does not work on my instance:(

Sorry it was user error:( I set the custom field for a participant role and I had the incorrect role on custom set. Thanks anyway!
