I expect my "immediate post" mail not to be scheduled and sent via Linux cron.
On the contrary, it is scheduled. Is this correct?

Yes, it has to be (it isn't possible to make big sending from the browser directly)

You might want to decrease the time between two crons to have it "almost immediate"
