Upgraded to 4.4.1 and lost all the commas between multiple value custom fields

I just upgraded to 4.1.1 and lost all the commas between multiple value custom fields in views. Spent all day getting re-doing custom modules, templates etc - and this is the last thing that I can't seem to get to work.
Any suggestions?

No suggestions. Still looking for this. Seems it should be a simple thing, but still not figured it out.

your best bet would be debugging the handler code here. Its been some time since i checked that code base, but this might be the handler for custom fields:

drupal/modules/views/civicrm/civicrm_handler_field_custom.inc

if you find the problem, please do file an issue along with a patch.
