Pros / Cons Sql database
March 16, 2012, 09:15:08 am
I know it is recommended to have a separate sql database for my civicrm installation on wordpress, but am i losing anything by doing this?  I am just worried of having separate accounts that dont communicate with each other.  Is there a list of pros for using the same sql database?

Thanks

Hershel

Nothing whatsoever.

That's not how it works--they can "communicate" just fine. There may be one "pro" for using one database--if you find it easier to migrate sites that way.

But don't worry--you are not missing out on anything by using two databases.

It's actually one account, not two. The two dbs should have the same sql user.
