Most of the people who answer questions on this forum don't work in Windows, so it may be hard to provide an answer. I post this so that you will understand in the event that no one posts a good answer.

Hello Penn,

I noticed that there were no Definitive answers to your question, and with 796 views at the time of this response, it seems to be one that is in need of addressing.

After my research (accomplished with a rather lengthy Google search, I have come to the educated non-conclusion that it depends on your level of expertise, and what you are trying to accomplish. The consensus seems to be that:

1. Bitnami is best recommended for those who want to develop with a specific application platform, as each Web app is a stand-alone product packaged with a separate copy of the stack.

2. Wamp Server seems to be geared toward PHP programmers, and also includes a PHP debugger.

3. XAMPP is one of the more highly recommended stacks, mainly due to it's ease of use. Several of it's components — Apache, MySQL, and the FileZilla FTP server — can be run either as a standard Windows application in the background or as a system service. It is also noted that it is consistently maintained, and is also available on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris. Overall, it seems to be the most recommended stack for beginners.

Hopefully this information is helpful.

Cheers,
Jason
