Civimember roles sync not synchronizing...help request

I have about 6k members, imported into Drupal on one side.  emails match civicrm contacts.

Organizations are members in Civi, membership relationship is "Employee of".

I have 10 membership types, all are set to Current Codes : New, Current, Grace and Expired Codes : Expired, Cancelled, Deceased.

When I run the manual import, the confirmation message shows immediately after click and no memberships are assigned in Drupal.


Any clues as to why "nothing" is happening?

Hi Derek - may need to flesh this out a bit more.

When you say 'run the manual import' what process are we talking about.

Are we talking about CiviCRM Member Synch module?

Or something else. Feel a bit of the puzzle is missing here. thx

Hi Pete!

I used a feeds importer to import Drupal Users from the same mysql DB that I used to import contacts to CiviCRM.

The drupal users import query was modified to only include those contacts that are also current members. I matched email to both email and username, password to password.

I then attempted to use the civicrm roles sync module, to no avail.

The civi role synch module may not be what you think - or i am still not quite getting your process

if you have a person who has both a Drupal record and a civi record and they are matched via email in the UF Match table - then if you look at the civi record there will be a link to the Drupal user record via the ID number on the screen - and vv there will be a link to the civi record at the bottom of each Drupal user record

Do you already have those links?

If you do, then civi member synch module will tell Drupal which Drupal Role to give users based on their Civi Member status, as set by you in the config for that module.

Is it this last bit you are having problems with, and that you already have the drupal-civi matches?

Aha, thank you Pete.

I was under the impression that the Drupal User<->Civicrm Contact relationship was created by Civimember Roles Sync.

Currently they are not related, but are primed and ready to match via email address.

How can I get these links built out?

okay - so you have drupal users and civi contact but they are not yet matched up

perhaps you are thinking of the 'Synchronise Users to Contacts' which you can find here

/civicrm/admin/synchUser?reset=1

or under admin > users and permissions in the 4.1 menu.
