menus throwing javascript errors after upgrade
March 20, 2012, 05:55:22 am
Hello,

In preparing to make the leap to joomla 2.5 and civicrm 4.0, I've upgraded our civi to the most up-to-date version before 4.0 which was 3.3.6

Once having finished this, I ran the DB upgrade utility, and now I get I get a javascript error on each civicrm page:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'children' of undefined        jquery.dashboard.js:38

The admin menu is also not working fully, none of the dropdown options work. That flags an error as well:

event.layerX and event.layerY are broken and deprecated in WebKit. They will be removed from the engine in the near future.

I've done some searching, but nothing comes up vaguely useful. Anyone seen anything like this? I tried a menu rebuild, but no luck.

The latest version before 4.1 is 3.4.8 which is the same as 4.0.8 (except for the CMS versions it supports)

might want to upgrade to that and see if things work better
