Changing default quick search
March 21, 2012, 03:37:20 pm
Just wondering if there is a way to change the default quick search box to search by "first name, last name" rather than using sort name (last, first)?

I looked under Admin > Global setting > Search settings but to no avail.

Thanks!

I've just written a HOWTO on customising the quick search bar, which may help:

You'll need to search on something other than the "sort_name" field (which is in surname, firstname format by default) and I'm not sure how easy that will be without trying.
