I'm moving to a new hosting outfit where my CiviCRM application will run in production under WP (I hope). I also need to install CiviCRM on the same host to use as a test system. The two systems will of course have to be kept apart! What's the best way to do this? I know WP supports a feature called Multisite, and CiviCRM supports what it also calls Multisite. Can anyone advise me which is the best approach? Maybe one or neither of these?

Best approach is to use a subdomain. You can't use a multisite if you want to test code or templates. My recommendation is always to use a subdomain, then everything is unique.

Thanks for the reply. So would that be one install of WP plus CiviCRM on the primary domain, and one install of WP plus CiviCRM on the subdomain?
