Contribution Page Error Timeout Issues w/DOMpdf Package

I am using Joomla 1.5.23 and civicrm 3.48. Right now my client wants to keep the current versions and is requesting that I support them in making contribution pages properly work.  When I try to make a contribution. I get the following error

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in ----/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/dompdf/lib/class.pdf.php on line 3689

This process takes at least a three to four minutes and the errors are sometimes different but it is always in the dompdf area. Please help....
