Crowdfunding platform using CiviCRM and Drupal (or Joomla)
March 26, 2012, 02:55:17 am
Hello all,

Is it possible to create a crowdfunding platform with CiviCRM?

Meaning a funding platform where users can create campaigns using my customized data requirements and receive funding for their campaign from other registered users? What would be the methods to achieve this?

I'm using Drupal 7 and the lastest CiviCRM. Thanks for your input!!

This is a desirable option for fundraising "walks" or other campaigns where individuals ask their friends and family to "sponsor" them.

This is what I would like to do. Individuals creating campaigns asking the visitors of the site to fund them.

1. Contributor goes to the Contribution page and makes a donation

2. After making a donation the "thank you page" gives them the opportunity to click a button and "create their own page"

However I don't understand the reason for this function? It would turn this around to not what I want. I would simply like users to create their OWN contribution pages for FREE.

hi
I ask again that question
If I have well understood, CIVI CRM allows individual donors to raise funds dedicated to a SAME CAUSE and organisation (right ?)
Does CIVI CRM allows individuals to create their own projects to be funded by visitors ? Like any crowdfunding platform (www.kickstarter.com )
(in that case, we can imagine a system where the donations go to a common bank account - that of the administrator-  before being reversed to the fundraiser minus a commission as the total amount is reached)
??
thanks for feedback !

While civi has some elements of a crowdfunding platform (PCP etc), u'll need to do a fair bit of work to make civi into a crowd funding platform
