Date Warning after migration to new server platform
March 31, 2012, 09:08:59 am
Hello,

I am having an issue with CiviCRM 3.3.6 running on Drupal 6.25.  After migrating from a Virtuozzo-based virtualized server to a cloud-virtualized server, I am getting warnings like the one below.  While the file names/line numbers being cited change depending on the function selected, the error itself remains the same:

warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for 'CDT/-5.0/DST' instead in /var/www/vhosts/isctm.org/httpdocs/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/SelectValues.php on line 477.

I have added the following line to the site's only php.ini file:

date.timezone = "US/Central"

While the above setting addition to php.ini has been suggested as a fix elsewhere in this forum, it has no effect on my site.

Any pertinent ideas will be gratefully received.

Hershel

Did you try using America/Chicago in php.ini?

Nope.  Will try it this weekend, when I can afford the time for dns propagation.

What's interesting is that, this is a working system that is being migrated wholesale - the entire virtual container, with no regard to its contents - to the new server.  Nothing has changed, including php.ini, which did not and does not contain any such syntax, working correctly on the old server as we speak.
