We're using 4.1.1 and have set up an event which allows the main contact to register several participants online, using Paypal to pay.  We have just done a test run using real charges and Paypal as our processor.  Charges for the event are £55 for adults and £35 for children. 

Adult 1 completed the online form for himself, his wife and 2 children.  The set up allows multiple registrations from one email address but Adult 1 used separate email addresses for each of the four people. He was correctly charged £180 and paid it successfully via Paypal but the Civi records show the following:

Adult 1 - shows as registered in Civievent - contact record shows as registered.  CORRECT!
Adult 2 - 2 records in Participant area of Civievent, one Registered, one Pending - contact record shows both event records (Registered and Pending)
Child 1 - shows as Pending twice in Civievent - contact record shows Pending only once
Child 2 - shows as Pending twice in Civievent - contact record shows Pending only once

In reality, all four people should show as Registered (only once). I'm struggling to identify what's going on here and how to resolve it so would appreciate input.  As a workaround, at least the Paypal amount gives us a clue but it's a lot of unravelling to do once the masses start registering.

We've looked into this a little more and it appears that people paying the adult charge of £55 show as Registered (whether or not they are the main or an additional participant in the booking) but participants paying other charges (eg £35 for a child) all show as Pending, even though the Paypal payment has gone through successfully.  At present we have to manually alter statuses after doing some detective work on the Paypal charges.

I'd appreciate some Civi wisdom on whether or not this is a bug. There was a previous 4.1 bug that meant people showed as Registered even when they didn't complete a Paypal booking (http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-9712 - now resolved).  Might the issue above be linked in some way?

Ah... we already are using 4.1.1 - sorry, I'd forgotten to update my forum info.  Do you have any further thoughts, given that that's the case?
