Modify an existing registrtation
April 02, 2012, 03:02:19 pm
It seems that it is not yet possible for a user to come back and modify an existing registration. Is there a way for us to go into the backend (?) and make this modification? Even if the user has to call and say "Hey, add me to this field trip!" and an admin had to go in and do so, that would be fine. Is there a way that this might be done?

If this is not possible in 3.x might it be possible in 4.x? I'm using Drupal 6 and CiviCRM 3.4.7. I saw that the 4.1.1 upgrade is now available for Drupal 6 and plan to upgrade but we are right in the middle of our conference registration and I would prefer to wait to upgrade till that is over but I'll do what I have to do.

Thanks.

Yes, you can definitely do this. Go to Events>Find Participants, search for the record of the person's participation in the event you want to change (you can search by the person's name and/or the event and a few other criteria), click Edit. You can then make any changes you want.

There are ways to have the registrant do it too, but you need to do some permissioning and set some other things up. (My org does all our registrations by staff so I have not explored this yet.)

Thanks for the response. I do see that page but I see no way to make the modification that I need. We have a list of field trips that a person can register for (for a charge) and one of our users wanted to add an additional field trip to their registration. I do not see any way to add or subtract charged items from that edit page. Is there another place with which to do this?

Frome what I understand, your user has already registered for the other events and needs an extra done manually.
Goto Events >> Register Event Participant.
At the resulting screen, select the contact, pick the event. The event fees will then show up and you can complete the registration.
Then bill them!
Of course you could also go to event page and if you've enabled 'register other participants' for the event, you can proceed and register the user and this will allow you to proceed to payment (if setup).

This is assuming from your description that you have seperate events that the user has to register for (the list of events).
This will not work if it is just one event and the user wants to maybe have a charged activity added (camping gear for example).
This has been an issue for me as you cannot edit the price fields of events that have already been registered for (unless the original registration was also manual)
