configuring MX for civismtp
February 19, 2008, 08:11:25 am
someone asked:

One of the steps in the setup is to change our MX records so our email domain will resolve to your servers. Does this mean that all our incoming email will go through you? I thought this was just a SMTP service? How can we manage our email accounts if they don’t resolve to our pop server?

in this step,  you will need to choose a domain that is not your main email domain.

something like: newsletters.yourdomain.com

this way your main email domain will not be affected and your organizational email will continue to function like normal.
