Hi,

I'm not sure CiviCRM can do something like this (although I hope it can). The organization I work for recently completed a student program, for which we've had them register through civicrm. Each student participant is stored in CiviCRM as an individual record and has listed their attendance at the program. Additionally, we also have their parents' information stored as individual records with the appropriate Parent of-Child of relationship, as well as spousal relationships where applicable. We now wish to be able to send an email ONLY to the parents of the students who participated in this program...

How would I create a smart group that will dynamically populate with just individual records who have a "parent of" relationship to the student individual record who has their status as attended in the event we just completed? I'm able to create a smart group for all participants with "attended" status in that particular event, but then when I try to do a search for individuals in that group who have a "child of" relationship, it only shows me the students and not the parents....

Thoughts?
