Hi,

Just been banging my head for a while on two separate install "bugs", until I found out these two were related to the same issue: group hierarchy.

In one case, the total was wrong (a bunch of issues, but one was that some contact belonged to a sub group), the other was more of a problem (ACL got messed up) because a sub group was not seen.

The question we can't easily answer is "has group X sub groups?".
Right now, the only way I found out is to display every group & see if the parent is X. Not very practical. Actually, the way I did it was to use the api explorer, but can't say that's a solution I feel comfortable sharing with my users.

I think we should be more explicit about the group hierarchy, and willing to code something, but not sure what's the best:

- Show on the select the group hierarchy (as done for groups) on the contact search?
- when you display a group, display the sub groups (right now, only the parent group is displayed)
- when you display a search result on a group, mention that it's the contact that belong to group X *or to one of the subgroup among*+list of subgroups of X

Or something better?
