First and Last Name getting replaced

We've been experiencing a problem with our Contribute page.

1. User A fills out the form for a conference with all pertinent information including Last and First Name.
2. User A is then directed to pay for the conference using PayPal (our credit card processor).
3. Confirmation for both the form registration (one that is auto generated from CiviCRM), as well as the transaction receipt from PayPal; is populated by whomever's name appears on the actual billing info (sometimes User B).

In other words if the person 'attending' the conference is not the same person as the person 'paying' for the conference then the person paying for the conference has his/her First and Last name appear in the record.

I hope I've made this clear.

Is this normal? Is there anyway around this?

The workaround is to create a custom profile to show on the contribution form.  You have the fields (Preferred) First Name, (Preferred) Last Name on that profile then enable that profile for the contribution form.  This will then set the billing information under the billing address on their user record.

I hope that makes sense.  I know there is a topic here in the forums about this very thing.

The profile already has the Last and First Name set as preferred.

I read the previous post regarding this exact problem after I posted this one and see that there is no present workaround available but that there's been a request put in to fix this in the next version.
