Authentication Plugin Gives Erroneous Membership Expired
April 08, 2012, 08:10:56 pm
Hey,

I'm running J! 2.5.3-4 and Civi 4.1.1. I'm trying to use the authentication plugin to restrict access to J! content based upon membership status. Civi is the only active authentication plugin. It keeps denying my test memberships' frontend logins, redirecting them to the expired membership page even tho the memberships are definitely considered current (one is actually current, the other grace). I do not have membership type enabled, only membership status.

Also, I don't know if it helps but if I type the password in wrong it takes me to that redirect page, as it should.

Myself and other members get in fine. The only difference I see to the test memberships is they were created after Civi and the auth. plugin were installed and not part of a bulk upload like the others.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

Thanks,

--Allen

Allen,

Sorry, been off forum for a while.  Let's see if we can get to the root of this for you. I'm just reviewing the code to see if there is something obvious here.

I've got a suspicion that the error lines in the UF_Match table.  Can you check and see if the J! user_ID (uf_id) has a valid and correct entry for the civiCRM contact_id in the civicrm_uf_match table?

I'm also suffering from the same problem (Joomla! 2.5.2, CiviCRM 4.1.2, authentication plugin 2.1.2). I have checked the UF_Match table, and the uf_id as well as the contact_id are correct for each of the rows.

Any clues, anyone?

Hi Ringner,

Sorry for the delay but I'm not on the forum much these days.  Looks like the issue goes deeper than I thought. It's been awhile since I coded this and need to refresh my mind around whats going on. I did start looking into bring the code inline with API v3 but got sidetracked after finding the API explorer needed some tweeking to get working.

As a workaround what happens when you do enable "Enable Membership Type ACL Features"?

if you pm me we might be able to work this quicker offboard.

Henry

Just an update:

Out of frustration I deleted all the offending user accounts and re-entered them. Viola! Problem solved. I don't know how or why. I'm just glad it works now.
