Local Clubs, National Database, data curtaining? [SOLVED]
April 10, 2012, 07:11:49 am
Hi,

I'm looking into using CiviCRM as a membership database for our non-profit. and have a couple of questions about the system.

Question 1:
We have local clubs that have their own membership administrators.
These administrators should only be able to view/edit/create members for their own club.
However we'd still like to be able to access all the member details at a national level.

Is this possible with CiviCRM.

Question 2:
This one's not such a show stopper but it would be useful to know in advance.
The clubs may also want separate systems from each other for payments, email configuration, email templates, and workflows.

Is any of this possible too?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, or point me in the right direction!

Kind regards

Marc

1. Yes this is possible via the multi-domain model of CiviCRM. There are a few folks planning to collaborate and work on this to make it easier and more scalable. Might want to consider joining that Special Interest Group (SIG). This group is also planning to update and improve the current documentation which is a all over the place right now :(

2. Yes, payment processors are chapter specific, parts of email configuration and templates are also chapter specific but more needs to be done (i think)

Cheers Lobo. I didn't expect such a swift reply!
I'll go and check out the SIG now.

All the best

M.
