Hello all,

We are looking for functionality to track the logged-in user who creates a Contribution record when it is done manually by staff.  I searched around for about an hour on this subject, but the only thing I can find is that there was originally a field to track this in a specification back in 2007, but it appears it didn't make it (or has since been removed).

My questions are:

- Does this functionality exist in a different form currently that may not be obvious to me?
- If not, is there interest in having this functionality created and contributed?  Or is there a reason that it was scrapped that still stands?
