How to manage subevents for one mainevent
April 10, 2012, 05:30:14 pm
There is short chapter about subevents in http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/CiviEvent+Cart+Checkout. We tried to check this out on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org but with no success.
Isn't management of subevents one of the new faetures of CiviCRM 4.1?

In our case we have a course with several dates. E.g. the first two days are in a block and the third day takes place one month later. But the three days should be managed as one course with one title and one participant list.
Are we off the track with our tries?

Subevent support has only been implemented for the "shopping cart" registration workflow.  Once you enable "Use Cart Checkout workflow" in CiviEvent Component Settings, you will see the "Conference Slots" tab when editing events, and this page will allow you to set up the links you desire.  You should only have "Online Registration" enabled for the parent event, and disabled for the subevents.  Does this fit your requirements?
