Member Profile with history?
April 11, 2012, 08:04:04 am
Can CiviCRM provide a member "portal" meaning a view of a member's history with the organization?

Ideally I'd like to show them
 - current profile fields (editable) - that should be easy with profiles
 - a renew link if their membership is soon to expire - note that our members are often orgs, so would be based on the primary membership - can this be done?
 - a list of past events that they've registered for - can this be done?
 - a list of past membership payments - can this be done?
 - a list of available events for them to register for - can this be done?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This can be achieved thru a few pages -

 - the CiviCRM front-end contact dashboard can be configured to show current and past memberships, payments, events, groups and so on. There is a renew link for membership.
 - edit Profile pages will let you change the details for a specific profile.
 - a list of events for them to register for would be with the regular event http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Event+Listings

Setting it up will be different for the different CMS, but for Joomla dashboards are explained here - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Configuring+Front-end+Contact+Dashboard+in+Joomla!+Sites & profile edit forms here - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Configuring+Front-end+Profile+Listings+and+Forms+in+Joomla%21+Sites

It may be possible to use iFrames to put them on the same page, alongside an upcoming events module/widget/block.
