How to Set up CiviMail Settings When Manually kicking off Mailing
April 11, 2012, 11:35:47 pm
I have struggled but have not gotten the cron to work with my cron scheduler.  I have however gotten the mailings to send when I just go into Settings - Scheduled Jobs and kick it off manually.

However, I don't know how that works with the sending batches and limits, etc.  I have Google Apps that I believe limits 2000 messages a day, so I don't know how to get that to work together.

If I create smaller batches in Settings - CiviMail, like by using Mailer Job Size or the other fields, do I then have to go back in and manually kick off another batch?  Can someone please help?

Thanks,
Teak

If you are sending using smtp servers from google, it won't work for "production volumes". That's fine for a test, but that's not meant for heavy sendings.

if you don't want to have your own smtp server (on the webserver for instance), use an external service that is meant for that (civismtp is made to work specifically with civicrm)
