Pages/Posts Icon for "add civicrm public pages"
April 16, 2012, 12:19:58 pm
When I look at this page:
wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/?p=8

I see the little "add civicrm public pages" icon next to "Add Media" but I DO NOT see this on my Wordpress backend.
Does this come from a plugin? or could this be an issue from another plugin?

Thanks,

Kurund Jalmi

Nope it is inbuilt functionality. Your forum profile suggests that you are using alpha release and I think we added short code feature during beta cycle.

So I would recommend upgrade to latest stable of 4.1.x

Thanks a ton ... so is it safe to assume that the latest one is the one from sourceforge that looks like this image?

You need to download the wordpress version. You can get it from below url

http://sourceforge.net/projects/civicrm/files/civicrm-stable/4.1.1/civicrm-4.1.1-wordpress.zip/download

Still didn't work - until I can figure it out, can you shoot me a link for how I can insert a form/profile onto a wordpress page/post? I'm brand new to Civi coming from ZoHo :) Thanks for your patience.

Currently you cannot insert profile inside page / post.

But you can expose the profile in the front-end using: http://wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/profile/create&gid=1&reset=1

So, if I'm able to update where the icon shows to "Insert" then I would be able to insert?
Can you define, "expose profile on front end"?

At the end of the day, I just want to have forms display!
Thanks again

Nope, it will only allow you to add events and contribution / membership pages in posts / page

Ok, this will be my last reply and I'll even make a donation ... can you give me a few bullet points or a screenshot on how I can put a membership signup form on a page or post or whatever? Thanks so much! I just dont follow from the link you provided. Thanks so much

First you will have to create online membership page, check http://book.civicrm.org/user/membership/setup

Then you can use short codes to embed the page in post /page.
