Best Practices: Changing Memberships from Fixed to Rolling
April 17, 2012, 10:15:37 pm
At the end of May, our organization is planning to increase the prices for our memberships and change them from a fixed to a rolling period. Everything else about the membership types (name, inheritance, etc) will stay the same.

What's the smartest way for us to go about this? Can we just edit the existing membership types on that day, increasing rates and changing the period? Or do we need to create new membership types with the new rates and new period, and disable the old ones on that date (or change their visibility from Public to Admin)? If we disable the old types on June 1, would people with current memberships of those types still be seen as current members?

Any advice in advance as we plan the changeover would be much appreciated!
