Activity Type unseen

Not sure where this should go....hope it is here.

I can see the Home » CiviCRM » Administer CiviCRM - Activity Type Options
I see "Text Message (SMS)" is enabled.

However, I cannot see this option when either 1) using the actions button at the top of the contact summary or 2) when under the activities tab under the "new activities" drop down or 3) on the top menu under Contact > New Activity - the option is not available.



A search turned up nil for this issue.
Am I just not seeing this? Is the option somewhere else?

That was a reserved activity type when we were experimenting with SMS integration in the 1.x series. We suppress it since we stopped supporting SMS :(

However SMS is coming back in 4.2 so an equivalent activity type will also emerge

Even if it is unreserverd (i.e. for bulk SMS) would certainly be nice to record sending a text manually. I unsuccessfully tried to add the activity. Hmmm.

I saw a post about "those silly college kids" who don't read emails.
I concur.
Seems that in that demographic I get texts out the wazoo.
Emails are another story....they don't, in general, read them.
