CIVI smtp bulk email took 12 days to complete - 2600 contacts

A customer using civi smtp sent a bulk email of 2600 contacts on 5 April. It finished on 17 April. Any ideas?

This would depend on your configuration for civimail cron as well as your Mailer settings: batch, job size limits.

What do you have those settings set to?

also what is your civimail cron configuration?
