usps format
April 18, 2012, 08:57:57 am
Hello,
I am importing a few thousand members in CiviCrm and the import function generates errors when some addresses are not USPS friendly, as most of my members are not in the US I have to create a custom Address field each time. is there a way one can bypass this USPS constraint so that all my members have their address is in the same fields.

Many thanks for your help

Philippe

Hi Philippe,

I often import addresses that aren't US format addresses.  Can you paste the exact text of the error you're receiving?

It may be that you need to enable additional "Available Countries" and "Available States and Provinces" in the CiviCRM menu: Administer -> Localization -> Languages, Currency, Locations.

Hi Jon,
I have all countries enabled, so I will try and redo a test import and provide the error text.
During the last import it forces me to push some parts of addresses into "Addressee (Customized)" which is not what I want.
Will get back to you when I run another test.
Best,
Philippe
