Wordpress install ~ Dashlets not showing...
April 18, 2012, 11:59:33 am
hello there ~

I just installed WordPress and then CiviCRM.  I'm at step #9 on the installation guide,  Test-drive CiviCRM.  It says, "There should now be a CiviCRM link in your WordPress menu. Click that link and the CiviCRM Menu, Shortcuts, Search and New Individual Blocks should appear."  However, no such things appear.  When I go to edit the Dashboard, I can show Activities, and that is all.  Ideas on how to get the dashlets to show?

Thanks!

Yoohoo out there!  Am I invisible?  I have never had a response to anything I've posted on this forum.  I cannot get this to work ~ no way to access anything in CiviCRM.  Would appreciate any help.  Thank you!

sorry that none of your posts were answered :(

however with the info u've given, its really hard for anyone to even take a wild guess as to what the issue can be.

My only recommendation would be to try the install on a clean WP install with 4.1.2 on the same host. If that does not work, maybe on a different machine

Thanks much for your reply.

What more info would help to troubleshoot this?

Isn't CiviCRM 4.1.1 supposed to work with WP 3.3.2?

Is the CiviCRM Dashboard the only way to navigate around CiviCRM?  I can only see Activities (of which there are none).

Thanks again for your help.

You might want to check our demo server: http://wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/ to see how civi works with WP. You primarily navigate civicrm from the menu (or at least many of us do!)

seems like it is some system specific stuff on your hosting end that raises this issue. Not sure what info will help anyone figure it out either.

Are you using a custom admin theme?

No I am not.  Just installed WP & CiviCRM with default themes.

Can you use Firebug for Firefox and look at the Net tab and see if any errors or missing files appear?

Thanks Hershel & lobo ~ you get the honor of bestowing the GREAT DORK   ??? award on me for the week.  What I did not realize was that the CiviCRM navigation comes across the top in black.  I think what threw me was the language in the installation guide about what dashlets one is supposed to see, and when none showed up, that distracted me from noticing the CiviCRM navigation at the top.  That might be something for the developers to consider changing in the guide, as it's confusing... Or making it so that the dashlets do indeed show up ~ even better.
