Updating Participant Details
April 23, 2012, 01:13:22 pm
I'm having trouble updating a participant after they've registered. The field I need to update is their session attendance. There are many sessions available and they forgot to select one of the sessions during registration. So I need to go back in and update it to show that they are now registered for that specific session.

However, I can not even view what sessions they have registered for. Therefore, I can not add that extra session they want to attend. So how can I change the participant's registration to show that they are now registered for this session?

What is this session setting? Is it a custom field?

Yes, there are custom fields created and a profile as well.

You probably checked this already, but just in case, have you confirmed that the fields aren't showing on the participant screen?   The default setting is for a custom field set to be collapsed, so it may just look like a dark bar with the title of your custom field set in it.  Click on that to expand it to see your custom fields.  (Just to be clear, you start by going to the Event tab for the registered person and clicking on view for the registration. Then look at the bottom of that screen for your  custom field set).   sorry if this seems elementary, but I know it got me the first time I saw it.

Perhaps your fields were set to be relevant to the contact and not to the event registration? In which case they are on the contact edit page.

Nevermind, we were able to fix the problem. Thank you for your help though. We just created another custom data for the event since those people were already registered there.
