Need Opinions / Advice on best payment processors for Civi
April 24, 2012, 07:23:48 am
Hello - We are a small non-profit that has needs to grow into being able to use CRM for donations and event registrations (in addition to basic contacts management.)

We are trying to evaluate the CiviContribute module right now but would like to hear from the community on their experience using specific payment processors with the tool. It seems that Authorize.net and Paypal have the most support out of the core module, but what of other community offerings? Please share your experiences and advice.

Keep in mind we are looking for the quickest / easiest route with the least configuration "out of the box".

Like most general questions, the only correct answer is "it depends".

To get a better answer, try including this information:

1. What country are you in?
2. Do you have any existing relationships with payment processors (e.g. do you already do credit cards off line?)
3. Do you already have an ssl certificate for your site and/or is this an option and/or easy?

The generic community feedback is already posted here:

Authorize.net and Paypal are popular and both are almost zero-configuration. Most of the payment processors are, in fact. You just put in your API details and that's it. Some (like CyberSource) require a bit of work, but mostly it's just a matter of filling in a few boxes.
