Clarify Relationships?
May 01, 2012, 06:07:59 pm
I created a household and then I was trying to figure out how to add folks to that household. It took me a few seconds to figure out that relationships was how I added folks to the household.
I'm not sure what could be done, but I'm just thinking that I'm fairly tech savvy, so if it wasn't intuitive to me it might not be to other folks either? :)

Relationship is as well used for employer/employee and loads of other, well, relationships.

Being a generic tool kind of force it to have a generic name, so indeed probably harder to find than a more specific name.

Makes sense...so if it must be, it must be. But seems to me that one could setup "aliases" even if the fields have the same actual database name, so that when one is on a household one could use "add family member" and keep it "add relationship" on employee/employer/other screens.

You can as well create new relationship types between household & other contacts. eg a "shop at" or "support" an org, so don't think it could work to have a "add family member"
