Civicontrib Displays Permission Denied when viewing a contribution
May 02, 2012, 07:33:15 am
It's quite possible that I found a bug in CiviContrib...

The site that I am working has the following:

  • Drupal with i18n (i.e. mysite.org)
  • An alias for the French site (i.e. sitemy.org)
  • Donations in CiviContrib
  • Aegir CiviCRM platform

My client was complaining that they were unable to view the contributions on their site b/c they were receiving access denied issues.

I realized after (with the help of bgm) that the problem was indeed the aliased site in the other language. If the user logs into the 'primary' site they are able to view the contributions, but using the alias will not work.

I think it's because the civicrm.settings.php hard-codes the URL rather than using the Drupal URL.

It's not clear to me whether this can be fixed or not, but I think it was worth mentioning.

yeah, civi does not play very well with aliases. I think we are quite close to not using them in the DB at all etc, but a bit more work still needs to be done, IMO
