Allow users to add themselves to another group
May 03, 2012, 03:59:09 pm
Hi,

I have a number of profiles set up for users to sign up for. One being a volunteer group and another being a group I need sorted in order to determine whether they want petitions snail mailed to them.

Once they sign up to volunteer, they can't sign up to receive any snail mailed material because the error "A record already exists with the same information." prohibits them from doing so.

I've set the Joomla ACL public to allow for:
CiviCRM: profile create
CiviCRM: add contacts
CiviCRM: edit all contacts
CiviCRM: edit groups
CiviCRM: profile edit

What am I missing in order to allow them to update the info we have and thus add themselves to the second group?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.
